Swimming Pool Advices
Swimming or relaxing in "recreational water" such as swimming pools, waterparks, hot tubs,  or the sea is one of the most popular activities in Cyprus.
This web page provides information for raising awareness about the spread of recreational water illnesses (RWIs). Learning about healthy swimming behaviors may help protect swimmers from the spread of illness.
  • PLEASE wash your child thoroughly (especially the rear end) with soap and water before swimming. We all have invisible amounts of fecal matter on our bottoms that end up in the pool.
  • PLEASE don't swim when you have diarrhea... This is especially important for kids in diapers. you can spread germs into the water and make other people sick.
  • PLEASE don't swallow the pool water. In fact, try your best to avoid even having having water get in your mouth.
  • PLEASE change diapers in the bathroom and not at poolside. Germs can spread to surfaces and object in and around the pool and spread illness.
  • PLEASE take your kids on bathroom breaks often. Waiting to hear "I have to go" may mean that it's too late.
  • PLEASE wash your hands with soap and water after using the toilet or after changing diapers. You can protect others by being aware that germs on your body end up in the water.
  • After all by your side please keep the water of the pool clean.
  • By our side we will check the swimming pool every 2-3 days, cleaning the bottom of the pool by any foreign bodies that you can not remove using the net (we do it by "back wash") and control the chemical of the pool in the appropriate levels.
